SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,846, dated March 4, 1834.

Application filed December 12, 1883.

To aZZ whom it may concern.-

-Be it known that I,'SETH W. JOHNSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a. new and original Design for a Banner, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.

This design relates to a banner composed of a field containing a number of stars, and a second field which is ornamented by horizontal bars or stripes, and which contains an inner space or field.

The accompanying drawing represents a face view of my banner.

In this drawing, the letter A designates a space or field situated in the interior of the field B, which is ornamented by a number of horizontal bars or stripes, C C, of different color. The remaining field, D, of this banner is ornamented by anumber of stars.

My design is intended particularly for the Term of patent 14 years.

American banner, in which the field D is blue and the stars contained therein are white. The Stripes 0 O are alternately red and white, and the inner field, A, intersects a number of these stripes, so that it imparts to the banner a novel and distinguishing appearance.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design fora banner, consisting of the field B, having stripes C, the corner-field I), having the stars, and the field-space A, intersecting and breaking some of the stripes intermediate of their ends at one side of the field D, as shown and described.
