BAZILE LOUINEAU, OF SABLES DOLONN ES, FRANCE.
IMPROVEMENT IN DOMINOES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 143,703, dated October 14, 1873; application filed February 28, 1873.
Toall whom it may concern:
Be lit known that I, BAZILE LOUINEAU, of Sables dOlonnes, in the department oi" Vendee and Republic of France, have invented a certain Improvement in Tablets or Dominoes for the Game of Dominoes, of which the following is a speciiication:
My invention relates to the combination of dots lor points of different colors upon each tablet or domino, in such a manner that the number of tablets and of points or dots in a game of dominoes will be increased.
The accompanying sheet of drawing shows in top-plan view a series of tablets embodying my invention, and constituting a game of dominoes.
The tablets or dominoes may be manufactured of bone, ivory, metal in imitation of silver, or of other suitable material. The face of the tablets is colored white, the back of a darker color. They have a length of about two inches by a breadth of about one inch.
The collection of thirty-six tablets may be inclosed in a box with sliding cover, and thus delivered to commerce.
It will be seen that each'of the tablets has two compartments separated by a blue and a red line, leaving white between them, and thusw forming the three French national colors, blue, white, and red 5 but different colors might be similarly juxtaposed. Each of the compartments hasl the spots, points, or marks which appear upon the tablets of the ordinary game of dominoes, but with this diii'erence, that the ordinary tablets are only twenty-eight in num ber, and have black spots or points, whereas those the subject of my invention are thirtysix in number, and have points or spots of varied colors.
The Ordin ary game of dominoes has one hundred and sixtyeight spots or points. This has two hundred and fty-two. In blue there are six ace spots or points, six dence-points, six points three, six points four, six points. ve, and six points six. In red there are six acepoints, six points two, six points three, six points four, six points ve, and six points six.
What I claim as my invention is The improved domino or tablet, the dots on each half of the face of the said tablet being marked in two different colors, substantially as herein described.
' BAZILE LOUINEAU.
