DESIGN FOR A BRlDLE-BlT.
SPECIFICATION forming part. of Design No. 17,040, dated December 28, 1886. Application filed November 30, me. Serial No. 0,322. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK M. GILHAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bridle- Bits; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, re ference being had to the accoinpanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereou,which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a cheek-piece of a bridle-bit embodying my design, and Fig. 2is an edge view of the same attached to a bridle-bit in its proper position, these views being deemed sufficient to fully illustrate my design, the leading features of which consist in a bridle-bit in which the cheek-piece thereof presents the appearance of a hu man leg in out- In said drawings, A indicates the mouthpiece of a bit, and B cheek-pieces thereof. 0 is thelower extremity of the cheek-piece, which presents the appearance or outline of a hu' man leg, the outer face of said extremity being rounded or convexcd when viewed in crosssoction in resemblance to the shape of the human leg, the inner side, however, being preferably flat. hat I claim as new is- The design for a bridle-bit, which consists, essentially, of a bridle-bit having a mouthpiece, A, and cheek-pieces B, the latter in side elevation presenting to view leg and foot shaped extremities or portions 0 D, substan tially asset forth.
