DESIGN FOR A NECKTIE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 17,039, dated December 28, 1886.

Be it known that I, JACOB H. FLEISCII, a citizen of the United States, residing atNcw York, in the county or New York and State of New York, llfliVE invented: and produced a: new and original Design: for Neckties,of which the following is a specification, reference be ing had to the accompanying drawings, fornr ing part thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 illustrates an ordinary bowtie, the ends of which present a ribbed a1 pcarancc. Fig. 2 is a modification.
The leading tcatureot' my design consists in ribs running trt'rnsversely over a portion of the necktie, the remaining portion of the surface thereof being plain.
A represents a bow-tieofthe ordinary form, composed of grosgrain, satin, or other suitable smooth fabric of which it is customary to manufacture necktics. The ends or flaps B of the tie (shown in Fig. 1) are transversely ribbed, from a half to an inch and a quarter in width, the ribbed portion being broad or narrow, coarse or fine, according as the tie is of a large or small size, and giving to the tie a transversely corrugated or ribbed appearance.
