Be it known that I, ANNA K. MAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia 5 and State of Pennsylvania,have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part thereof.

The leading feature of mydesign is an Eastern pattern made up of small figures scattered all over the ground.

In the drawing, a is the body, I) the border, and a b the complete carpet.

c are small figures or ornaments well scattered over the ground and best understood by reference to the drawing, and (I is the ground. What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design for a carpet, the body o substantially as shown.
