DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRlNTlNG-TYPE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,656, dated December 30, 1884.

Application led November 9.5, 1884. Term of patent 'I years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN GEORGE MENGEL, Jr., a citizen of the United States, residing at Balti more. in the county of Baltimore and State of Maryland, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying impression, which forms a part of this specification.

In this font, which does not include the small letters, the letters, 85e., are full-face outline letters, heavily shaded on the lower end and right-hand side, to give the appearance of letters seen in perspective. A horizontal bar of a conventional design is incorporated with each letter, Sac., in such manner as to give the appearance ofI passing through the center of each letter. Initial and terminal types are shown, which join with the letterbars to give a finished appearance to a completed word or title. The bars of the several letters, numerals, and punctuation-marks are in the same vertical plane.

I claim as my invention- The design for a font of printing-type, as shown and described.
