To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that], JOHN QUINCY REED, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Pattern of a Girls Costume, (numbered 9,472,) and I do hereby declare that the engraved printsaccompenying this specificaltion convey to any one accustomed to using paper patterns a clear understanding of how aigafrment made up by the pattern will appear;
The design shows a siide-pluited; skirt displaying a box pleit atthe center of the front, lb high necked body portion, a low-necked body portion flaring in fancy curved outline from the shoulders in front, where it exhibits cross-straps extendingalternetely from under the opposite front edges, and showing their opposite ends pointed and fastened on the outside, the some body portion also displaying a fitted back that outlines a low fancy pompadour at the neck, a sash-drapery that appears to encircle the top of the slrirtlin full folds and form a large bow at the back, and coetsleeves thetexhibita gathering and [thigh roll atithe shoulder.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a girls costume, as shown in the engraved prints accompanying this specifiication.
