STATES PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR AN AIRPLANE Edward H. Heinemann and Leo J. Devlin, Los Angeles, Calif., assignors to Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc., Santa Monica, Calif.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, Edward H. Heinemann and Leo J. Devlin, both citizens of the United States and residents of Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for an Airplane, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 is a top perspective view of an airplane in flight showing our new design.

Figure 2 is a side elevational view of the subject airplane depicted in Figure 1 with the extended landing gear shown in dotted lines.

Figure 3 is a top plan view of the airplane depicted in Figures 1 and 2.

Figure 4 is a. front elevational view of the airplane depicted by Figures 1, 2, and 3 with the landing gear thereof being shown in the extended position by dotted lines.

Figure 5 is a bottom plan view of the airplane in flight.

The characteristic features of our design are shown by means of full lines in the drawings.

We claim:

The ornamental design for an airplane, substantially as shown and described.
