DESIGN FOR ORNAMENTATION OF OVERSHOES.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,372, dated October 23, 1883. Application filed May 31, 1881i. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE WATKINSON, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new diagonally over the vamp, those running from one side crossing those coming from the opposite direction and forming diamond -shaped spaces on the surface, and as more fully hereinafter described.

The general outline of the upper may be any of the usual shapes, that being immaterial to this design. 0n the vamp is the representa tion of bands running from each side near the soleover'the vamp to the opposite side, those coming from one sidecrossing those coming from the opposite side, and forming diamondshaped spaces, as shown in the accompanying illustration. These bands may be plain, as shown, or ornamented, without departing fro in this design, the essential feature of which is the crossing diagonal bands on the vamp portion of an india-rubber shoe.

I claima The design for the ornamentation of india rubber overshoes, consisting in the representation of diagonal hands over the vamp portion, those running in one direction crossing those running in the opposite direction, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
