This invention relates to a design for the roughening ot the surface of the sole ofindia rubber boots and shoes, whereby that surface is made highly ornamental; and iteonsists in:

The ornamentationconsists of two series of ribs crossing EflGlll other, forming diamonidshaped panels on the sole. The surface of these panels is cut in the form of lozengcz; shaped figures, as shown.
I claim The design: for the ornamentation of the soles of indiwrnbher boots and shoes, consisting in the two series of ribs crossing each 0 other, forming diamond-shaped panels on the sole, the snrfaceof the said panels presenting lozenge-shnpcdi figirres, as shown and de a scribed.
