SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,181, dated August 21, 1883.

Application filed July 2, 1883. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, \VILLIAM S. DoLBEY,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of 5 New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Capital Letters, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

The drawing shows a complete alphabet of capitals made in accordance with my invention, the object of my design being to produce a new and original alphabet of capitals, wherein each letter is designed with a view to I 5 its occupying substantially the same space,

and at the same time presenting the same general relative outline, so that, for example, the letter I, usually a narrow letter, will fill as much space as any other letter, while the M or the W, broad letters, will occupy no more. 20

What I claim is- I The design for capital letters shown and described.
