DESIGN FOR A FlRE-PLACE FRONT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,076, dated July 10, 1883.
Application filed May 5, 1883.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Josnru A. READ, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented or 5 produced a new and original Design for a Fire- Place Front, of which the following is aspect fication.
My design is fully shown in the accompany ing photographs.
The main or central panel has ornaments mostly of a floral character, and also a representation of a pair of birds and of a nest with eggs. Surrounding the central panel is a frame, the ornamentation of which is a central stem I 5 with branching leaves and blossoms. At the top of the structure is a grated opening, around which the frame is carried, the ornamentation of this part of the frame, however, being slightly different from that of the other por- 20 tions. Outside of the frame, and extending completely around the structure, is a beaded border.
The top may be either rounded, as shown in Fig. l, or flat with rounded corners, as shown 25 in Fig. 2, this change not altering the character of the design.
Term of patent H years.
I claim- 1. The design for a fire-place front, said design coniprislng a panel with ornamentation of a floral character, and with a representation k of a birds nest and birds, as shown and described.
2. The design for a fire-place front, said design eomprising the central panel and surrounding frame, with ornamentation, as shown and described.
3. The design for a fire-place front, said design comprising the central panel, the grated opening at the top of the same, and the frame surrounding the panel and opening, as shown and described.
4. The design for a fire-place front, said design eornprising the central panel, the surrounding frame, and the beaded border, all ornamented as shown and described.
