UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LOUIS KYSER AND ALFRED (J. REX, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A TOY MONEY-BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,144, dated August 8, 1882.
Application filed June 1, 1882. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, LoUis KYSER and AL- FRED 0. REX, both of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Design foraToy Money- Box, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention has reference to designs for toy money-boxes; and it consists in forming the same of the shape and configuration set forth in the following specification, and shown in the accompanying drawings, which form part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation of our improved design for toy moneybox. Fig. 2 is an elevation of the center configuration of the sides ofthe box. Big. 3 is an elevation of the center configuration of the back of the box. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the center configuration of the top of the box, and Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the money-box without the configuration marked thereon to show the general cubical shape.
A is the body of the box, and is made cubical or nearly cubical, and consists of the front or (1001' E, sides F F, and back G.
B is the ,top plate, and is larger than the base of the body A, though of the same shape, and is provided on its under side with the curved or beveled edges 11. The base-plate or pedestal (J is substantially similar to the top plate, only larger, it having similar curved or beveled edges, 0, only inverted. These plates are provided with configurations, as follows: The curved or beveled edges 0 b of plates 0 B are provided with vertical bars, as shown. All of the plates, with the exception of the baseplate, are provided about their perimeters with an ornamentation,H. (Shownin Fig.1.) 0n the front or door plate, E, this ornamentation may be omitted at the top, and in lieu thereof the title or name of the bank, as Egyptian Bank. The center partof the front plate has the configuration of a sphynx upon a pedestal, a Oleopatras needle in the rear, and a tropical tree on one side, with its branches extending across.
The side plates, F, have on their center parts the representation of Egyptian masonry, pedestals, columns, an urn, and a pyramid in the rear.
The back plate, G, has a horizontal bar, g, across the middle, with ornamentation on each side of it and also in the four corners. Upon this bar the childs name may be painted or engraved.
The top plate, B, is provided in the center with an ornamentation, as shown, and also in the four corners, as on the back, and this plate is also provided with the slot B for the disposition of the money.
It is evident that the particular emblematic figures or ornamentation may be varied without departing from ourinvention, the effect or design being substantially the same, and the configuration or ornameution may be painted one color and the background another color, and, if desired, the ornamentation may be depressed instead of being raised.
Having now described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for a toy money-box, which consists of a box of general cubical shape having ornamentation about the perimeters of its sides, and inclosing emblematic figures, said ornamentation and emblematic figures being raised or de JIBSSGtI, substantially as shown and describe 2. The design for a toy moneybox, which consists of a box of general cubical shape, having its front or door plate provided with the configuration of a sphynx and other Egyptian emblems, substantially as shown.
3. The design for a toy money-box, which consists of the cubical body A, consisting of plates E F F G, having Egyptian emblematic configurations, in combination with top plate, B, and base or pedestal plate 0, both provided with curved or beveled edges 1) 0, provided with vertical stripes or bars, substantially as shown.
In testimony ofwhich invention we hereunto set our hands.
