DESIGN FOR A KNIT FABRIC.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,761, dated February 14, 1882. Application filed November 7, 18H1. Term ofpatent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Swlrs CONDE, of Oswego, in the county of Oswego, in the State of New York, have invented new and useful Improve ments in Design for Knit Fabric, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a full, clear, and exact description.

The annexed drawing represents a piece of knit fabric embodying my design, said design consisting in the following arrangement of stripes of different widths, to wit: first, anarrow plain stripe, a, then a wide mottled stripe, b, then two narrow plain stripes, c c, with a narrow mottled stripe, d, between them, then another wide mottled stripe, b, then again beginning with a narrow plain stripe, a, like the rst mentioned, and continuing with the succeeding stripes in the order aforesaid. All of the said stripes are straight and parallel, as shown.

The design for knit fabric, consisting in the following arrangement of stripes, to wit: first a narrow plain stripe, a, then a Wide mottled stripe, b, then two narrow plain stripes, c c, with a. narrow mottled stripe, d, between them, then another wide mottled stripe, b, and then again beginning with a narrow plain stripe, a, like the first mentioned, and continuing with the succeeding stripes in the order aforesaid, all ot said stripes being straight and parallel, substantially as described and shown.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name and axed my seal, in the presence of two attesting witnesses, at Oswego, in the county of Oswego, in the State of New York, this 1st day of November, 1881.
