Description

DESIGN.
A. BEST AVAILABLE CQPR BRACELET. N0.12,370 Patented J111y19,1881.
INVENTOR ATTORNEYS.
To all whom it may concern:
ABIJAH WALLACE,
DESIGN FOR PATENT OFFICE.
OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
A BRACELET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,370, dated July 19, 1881.
Application filed May 25, 188i. Term of patent 3 years.
Be it known that I, ABIJAH \VALLACE, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Bracelet, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective view of my newlydesigned bracelet. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of a bracelet with parts broken away to exhibit other parts illustrating my design. Fig. 3 is a front elevation of a portion of a bracelet,
also illustrating my design.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The leading feature of mydesign consists in a vertically-barred outer face combined with rounded edges and a horizontally-barred inner face, in which the vertical bars terminate.
The bracelet is preferably formed from long flat sheets of metal, hard rubber, or other suitable material, having a series of parallel crosscuts or openings, a, made in it, so as to leave edges or longitudinal bars A A, connected by a series of narrow cross-bars, B B. Then the said sheet is bent longitudinally near both edges to form the bracelet of the design herein shown, wherein the bars A A form the inner horizontal parallel bars of the bracelet, with an open space, 1), between them, and the bars B B form the vertical bars forming the front of the bracelet, while their bends form the rounded bracelet edges 0 C. These bars B B may be bent outward, so as to present a convex outer face to the bracelet and full rounded bracelet edges, as shown in Fig. 1; or they may be flattened, as shown in Fig. 2, so as to present narrow rounded bracelet edges; and they may be formed with their own edges zigzagged, as shown in Fig. 3, or of any other desired outline.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a bracelet herein shown and described, the same consisting of the inner horizontal bars,.A A, the outer vertical parallel bars, B B, and the rounded bracelet edges C O.
ABIJ AH WALLACE.
