Description

Drs-75 ff f1 n Immo DESIGNA P. ROSENBACH. CARD-BASKET,
Palcntedl'y 21M 1877- UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
PETER ROSENBAGH, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A CARD-BASKET.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,130, dated July 24, 1877; application filed May 8, 1877.
[Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETER ROSENBACH, of Brooklyn, Kings county, in the State of New York, have originated a new Design for Gard- Basket, of which the following is a full,elear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, in which- VFigure 1 is a plan view, and Fig. 2 a side e1evation.
Referring to the figures, A represents a hat bottom with six equal sides, and B B, 85e., are side pieces standing at the inclination described, and joined together and to the bottom by their edges. The outer edge or riin is formed in steps b, extending upward and outward, as shown, to the points c. A square, ot' which each ofthe angular projections or steps b forms two sides, is worked with silk or gorsted, or otherwise decorated, as shown Various ornamentations may be applied to other parts at will.
I propose to manufacture the card-basket of perforated card-board, perforated metal, or analogous perforated material, which allows the device to be wrought in silk or worsted;
but such mode of decoration is not essential.
I propose, in some instances, to make the basket of two thicknesses, so that both pieces may be wrought, and the wrong side of each be concealed.
The two thicknesses may be secured by blind-stitching; but this is not essential.
I prefer to make the several sides and the bottom in one piece, cutting ont by dies or otherwise, in the angles, a suleient quantity of the cardboard or other material to give the proper bevel; but the lines of junction with the bottoni should be sharply turned, so that the appearance presented is the same as if all the faces were formed separately and simply fastened together.
What I claim as my invention is- The design for card-basket, having the sides B pointed and stepped with the steps b, dec orated in squares b', substantially as herein set forth and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 5th day of May, 1877, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
PETER ROSEN BACH.
Witnesses:
