V This difficulty is ohvated by allowing 'the buttons B a small amount of play in their sockets, in the direction of the length ofthe springs, while they havea -firm hold against a strain transversely to the springs. My fastening iseasily made, and readily fastened and nptastened. What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters patent, is

the solid projection B, adapted to engage with each other, to fasten, orbe detached -to unfasten the corset,

the saidparts being constructed and operating substantially as shown' and described.
