To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, MERIDETH W. MIRA- CLE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ardmore, in the county of Carter and State of Oklahoma, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment- Supporters; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to a garment supporter.

The object of the invention is to provide a simply constructed and efiicient device of this class by means of which the weight of the garments is suspended from the shoulders.

VVit-h this and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

The accompanying drawing shows a. perspective view of this improved device.

In the embodiment illustrated a waist band 1, is shown composed of elastic or any suitable material and is preferably provided with buttons for the connection of skirts,

trousers, etc., thereto. This waist band is supported by suspenders 2, and 3, which pass over the shoulders at the point marked 4:, and are crossed at 5, between the shoul' ders and are passed out back under the arms and are connected at 6, and 7, with the front portion of the suspenders 2, and 3, thus suspending all weight direct from the shoulders and also supplying a perfect shoulder brace. Two elastic straps 8, and 9, are connected with the suspenders at points 6, preferably forming continuations of the straps 2 and 3 and 7, and cross each other in front of the wearer and are provided at their free ends with buttons as 10, which are adapted to be engaged by the rear flap of childrens drawers for holding them yieldingly in closed position. The crossing ofsaid bands 8, and 9, adapts them to exert sufficient tension to hold the drawers in closed position and yet I permit them to be lowered without unfastening the buttons and which will return them immediately into closed position after they have been drawn down against the tension of the elastic webbing. It will thus be seen that these elastic straps will serve to normally keep the rear flap of childrens drawers up and in close contact with the front flap.

Elastic hose supporters 11, and 12, are detachably connected with the waist band 1, at the front portion thereof by any suitable means to provide for the removal of said supporters when desired, for instance, when the child goes bare-footed. All of the supports are made adjustable, as shown at 13, by means of buckles or any other suitable devices, the straps 8 and 9 are preferably made in twosections and connected by buckles as 13 to provide for their adjustment. The bifurcated ends of the supports 11 and 12 are .provided preferablymade as shown in the drawing in the form of metal plates having arc-shaped slots cut therein into which the stocking is inserted.

A back strap 15 is connected at one end to the waist band and at its other end to the straps 2 and 3, at their point of crossing 5, and it is made adjustable by means of a buckle 13.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and operation will be rea ily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.

Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention, as defined in the appended claim.

I claim as my invention:

A garment supporter comprising a waist band, shoulder straps connected at one end to said band at the front thereof, and crossing each other intermediately of their ends, one of said straps being connected at its free end to the body portion of the other strap at a point above the waist-band in position to dispose it at the front of the wearer when in with hose engaging members 14,
