CANTEEN LUNCH-B OK.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 8, 1909.
Application filed. October 2* 1907. Serial No. 398,974.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Assor AUeUs'rt's Low, a citizen of the United States, residing at Horseshoe, St. Lawrence county, New York State, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Qanteen Lunch-Boxes, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to receptacles for carrying lunch, both liquids and solids, in one structure, and it consists in certain elements and combinations fully set out in the followin specification and claimed at the end thereof.
In order that those skilled in the art to proceed. to describe it referring to the accompanying drawings forming part of this speciiication in which- Figure 1 shows a side elevation and Fi. z 2 an end elevation of my invention. F 3 shows a top view of same and Fig. 4 a t vertical section of Fig. 1.
A. A. show LC'XGS, B. B. show covers,
A. and C. C. show flanges on the cover B.
D shows a sheet of metal grooved at E and. folded up to form an inclosure D; the grooves E embrace the flanges C on the boxes A. A. and the metal of D is soldered to the sides of the boxes A. A. at F. The ends of sheet D are soldered together and a fluid ight receptacle is thus formed bounded on its sides by the bottoms of boxes A. A.
G is a screw top and cap inserted in the top of receptacle D in the usual manner.
H. is a band of metal or other equivalent material running entirely around the whole structure, secured at one end to the nipple of screw top G and at its other end over the screw top itself. Both ends of band ii have holes suliiciently large to embrace the screw top and nipple, and means are provided for locking the two ends together as shown, to secure the whole structure from liability of being opened by anyone but the owner, a loop K is attached to the bottom of sheet D through which band H passes to retain it always with the receptacle, a handle L is secured as shown to sheet D.
The combined structure constitutes a can- 1 teen for fluids and boxes for solid lunch. It which my lnvention belongs, may under- I stand, construct and use my in *ention iwill is constructed with the purpose of con enience and cheapness of manufacture.
Having now fully described my invention and the manner in which I have embodied it what I claim as new and as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- A canteen lunch box composed of a centrally located fluid receptacle as D, grooved at E to receive and tightly embrace the flanged base C of box A; box A tightly held by flange C in groove E screw cap closure as G; inclosing band as H loopK; and handle as L, all constructed and combined to form a receptacle for fluid and solids in one structure substantially as specified.
In testimony whereof, I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, this 18th day of October 1907.
ABBQT AUGUSTUS LOV Vv itnesses H. A. \WARREN, GEO. l'VELLING Gmnmos.
