ATTACHMENT TO CEMENT POSTS.
Specification of Letters laten't.
Patented July 20, 1909.
. Application filed Kay 18, 1909. Serial No. 496,804.
' To all whom it may concern:.
Be it known that I, EENEsT M. SLAYTON, a citizen of the United States, residin at GlOV": ersville, inthe county of Fulton an State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements-in Attachments to Cement Posts; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact descri tion of the invention, such as willenable ot ers skilled in the art to which it ap'pertains' to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this s ecification.
. the drawings by letter, A desi This invention re ates to new and useful improvements in means for attaching wires to cement posts and com rises various details of construction, com inations and arrangements of te'r fully descri ed and then specifically defined in the appended claims.
Y I illustrate my inventionjnthe accompanying drawings,- in which Figflre 1 is a perspective view showing a meta '0 plate fastened to a post, and F 2 is a sectional view longitudinally throug a plate and post. l
Reference now being had to the details of ates a cement or com osition 0st whic ma be of any size or s ape, an -B is a metallic plate .havingits upper end bent over and extending down u on the opposite side of the post a suitable tance. One end of said p ate preferably extends the length of the post and has one or more holes therein for the reception of bolts D which are passedthroufih the plate and holes formed in the post at t e arts which will be hereinaf-' time the same is constructed, thereby securelyholdlng the plate to the post. Said plate has struck up at intervals and spaced apart fingers E in which the line wires of a fence are held in any suitable manner.
By the provision of an attachment for cement osts as shown and described, a simple and e cient means is provided whereby the post is reinforced and which may be easily and uickly removed and re laced if desired. In t e event of the meta ic plate being broken or injured in any way, it may be easily re laced Without any mjury to the post. T eupper portionof the plateextend- 111g over the top of the post also serves as a protection to. said post, as will be understood.j 4
What I claim to be new is In combination with a cement post having holes therein, a detachable apprtured plate having apertures therein, olts passing through registering a ertures in said plate port line wires, as setforth.
, In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my signature the presence of two witnesses.
-ERNEST M. SLAYTO'N.
