To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, Ka'rniunn BAKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at l foodbury, in the county of Bedford and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Crib Attachments, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to beds having special reference to cribs and attachments there for.

An object of this invention is to provide a crib with an attachment which will prevent a child within from falling out of the crib when left alone.

Another object is to provide a device of this character with a wire screen whereby the child will not be annoyed by flies and insects which are about at certain times of the year.

A further object of this invention is to provide a frame to be attached to a crib which will be simple, durable and cheap so as to produce an article that will surpass any heretofore constructed.

The invention has as a still further object the provision of a device of this character which can be folded in to comparatively small space for the purpose of transporting the same.

Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description, and it will be understood that changes in the specific structure shown and described may be made within the scope of the claim and that any suitable materials may be used without departing from the spirit of the in vention.

In the drawings forming a portion of this specification, and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views, Figure 1 is a side elevation of the frame as applied to a crib, 2 is an end elevation of the same, Fig. 3 is a longitudinal vertical section of the same.

Referring now to the drawings, 10 designates the back screen which comprises substantially rectangular frame made preferably from wood which supports between a beading 11 upon the inner edges of the frame portion 10 a wire screen 12 of fine mesh. This back screen 10 is adapted to eX- tend the full length of the crib to which it is attached, and supports the ends 13 and 1 1 from its opposite extremities. The hinges 15 one being secured near each upper and lower end are employed for the purpose of securing the opposite members together so that they may be folded when the device is to be transported. The ends 13 and 1% are constructed the same width as is the back 10 with the exception that they are substantially square as the width of a crib is not very great. The end 13 supports upon hinges 15 the front screen.

The front screen 16 comprises the two similar sections 17 and 18, the section 17 of which is directly hinged to the end 13 while the section 18 is hinged to the extremity 17 by hinges 15. These sections 17 and 18 are each half the length of the back section 10. Each of the frames which comprise the device is provided with beads 11 and a screen 12 of fine mesh.

The section 18 is adapted to swing inwardly and is provided with a suitable hook 19 which engages in an eye 20 carried upon the edge of the end 1st, when the section 18 is to be closed. A top or cover 21 is positioned upon the upper edges of the frame and is secured thereon by the eyes 20 which are carried in the several edges of the top 21 and are engaged by the hooks 19 which are carried upon the outer surfaces of the several frames. The bottom edges of the frames are provided with hooks 19 which engage the eyes 20 carried by the crib.

A device of this structure can be readily collapsed by disengaging the several hooks 19 from the eye 20 and allowing the sectional frame to swing together upon the hinges 15.
