CHILDS CRIB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 750,805, dated February 2, 1904.
Application filed April 4, 1903. Serial No. 151,164. (No model.) i
To It whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, J OSEPH CAMPBELL, acitizen of the United States, residing at Essex, in the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Childrens Cribs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to foldable cribs for children, which can be attached to bedsteads; and it consists in the novel construction and combination of the parts hereinafter fully described and claimed. 7
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side view of the crib. Fig. 2 is an end view of the crib.
A is a crib side provided with horizontal bars 7), vertical slats 7), and legs B. The legs may be made in two parts and hinged together, so as to be foldable, if desired.
C represents bearing-blocks secured to the middle parts of the legs.
D is a bottom panel which is hinged to the legs B by hinges (Z and a bar (1, which passes through the bearing-blocks C. Hooks E are secured to the opposite sides of the bottom panel D from the hinges, and these hooks are for engaging with an ordinary bedstead.
F represents end panels which are hinged by hinges f to the ends of the bottom panel D. The end panels F are provided with hooks g, which engage with eyes .g on the upper part of the crib side A when the end panels are raised to a vertical position, as shown. The end panels fold downward toward each other onto the bottom panel, and the bottom panel folds downward against the crib side.
The panels are preferably formed of frames and a network of any material which is light and strong.
What I claim is I A childs crib, comprising two legs, upper bars and lower bars 6 and slats 6 extending between the legs on one side thereof, blocks C secured to the other sides of the legs behind the lower bar 6, a bar (1 extending between the blocks C, a bottom panel D hinged to the bar cl and having hooks E at its free edge, and panels F hinged to the ends of the said bottom panel, and fastening devices for securing the end panels F to the upper ends of the said legs.
