IMPROVEMENT IN WATER-HEATERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern:
' Be it known that I, mo s saw, of the m and county of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented, a new and improved Method of Heating Water by Steam; and I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the-letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention consists in the heating of water by steam, noiseless, as hereafter described.
In order to enable others to use and practise my invention,-I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
On reference to the accompanying drawing, which forms part of the-specification, the sketch represents a longitudinal vertical section, through centre of appa ratus, of which-- a is an ordinary wood tank, into which descends-a steam-pipe, d, which connects with a metal socket, c, on the outside of which is secured, by wire, a canvas tube, b, the other end of which is riveted shut at e, al1 for the purpose as hereafter-described.
The operation is in this wise: Whenwater is placed in tank a, steam isallowed to flow from pipe 11, into canvas tube b, from whence it .percolates through the numerous meshes of the can as,
and is there condensed before it comes in contact with the water, the result of which is a heating of the water without noise.
Iii-will be evident that various materials can be woven, to construct the hose, or tube, and that it can be made of various shapes, without any" alteration in the result. What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Pat cut, is
