To all whom it lmag/,concern Beit known that I, HENRY Hannity, of Shoals Station, in the county ot' Martin, and State of Indiana, have invented cert-ain new and useful Improvements in Frnit-Driers; Aand I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear,and exact description thereof', reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of'this specification, and in which is represented a perspective section of iny fruitdr|ier.

The object ot' this invention is to provide a cheap and suitable means for drying fruit, 85o.; and-to this end,

My invention consists in `the employment oi' a pan or vessel, constructed substantially as will be hereinafter described.

lo enable others skilled in the art to which my in vention appertains, to make and use the same, I will n'ow proceed to describe its construction and operation. l

In the accompanying drawing is represented my drying-pau, which is made by making or constructing a square frame, A, to the inner sides of' which, a suit-l able distance below its upper surface, is secured a metal plate or top, B, as seen in the drawing.

C designates the bottom, which may be either made lower side ofthe frame A.

This boitoinisAprovided'with a convex outer surface, as illustrated in the annexed drawing, in the ccntre of which bottom is made o r` constructed an opening or hole, D, through which steam enters the pan, when placed on an ordinary boiler.

The object of so constructing the bottom of the pan or drying-vesselis to allow the condensed steam in the pan to be conveyed back to the boiler.

E represents 'one-halt` of a boiler, t-o which is at tached the pipe D. Thesteain from the. boiler E passes up through the pipe D, and between the plates B and C, where, becoming condensed, it passes down the pipe D again into the boiler, in the form of Water, the plate O being made concave ony its upper' surface, to insure the flow of the water back again into the boiler.

The fruit or articles to be dried are placed on the top of plate B.

Having thus fully described my invention,

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The frame A, provided with plates B C, the upper surface of the lat-ter being made cimcav'e, as described, in combination with the pipe l) and boiler Ef, all constructed, arranged, and operated substantially as set forth.
