Be it known thatwe, J QHH, TEAHL and J A001; O. ZIMMERMAN, of'Eberlys Mills, in the county of Gum; berland, and' State of -Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvementsin Window-Lockand Set; and we do herebyrdeclare vthat the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being hadto the accompanying drawingsfand to the letters of reference marked thereon, which forrn a part of this specification, and in which is represented a front View of our sash and lock-support; l j

The nature of our invention consists in' the employment, on a sash, of a nietal'plate, constructed at the end nearest the window-frame with an uprightprojec-v tion, said projection. being prox/vided at itsiupper edge `with a ange, into which is slid a wedge-shaped stop.v

Our invention consists, further, vin providing said plate, at its upper end, with apivoted device, 'the ob-A ject of which'will hereinafter be fully set forth.

To 'enable others skilled inthe art to whichl our in-` vention appertains, to Vmake and use the same, we vwill now describe its construction and operation.

The metal plate O is formed,at `the end nearest the l right side of the frame A, with an upright projection,

D represents a wedge-shaped stop, made at its up-V per or sharp end with arigl1t-angular bend, d. This stop i is slid into the projection b on'the plate C, the bend (l being in the position seen in the drawing, and when the `sash is down, the vertex of the right-angularbend d passes into a mortise made in the side of the frame. represents a metal drop, made as seen in the drawing, andv pivoted in the slotted projection formed in the upper part of projection b.

Byplacing the thumb on drop E, and fore-finger on bend et, the sash is unlocked, and may be stopped at any desired distance on. the sash, by moving up the drop E, which forces the stop D tightbetween the frame and the plate C. f

The sash is lowered by forcing the stop D down. Having thus described our invention, 'We clairn the'drop E, constructed as described, in

combination with the drop D and plate C, substantially in the manner `and for the purpose' specied.
