Be it known that I, CHARLES H.v Lrrr-LE,- a citizen of the United IStates, residing at Pidua,4 inthe county o fMiami and State of Ohio, have invented certain "new and useful Improvements in Undergarments, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has for its object to overcome the objectionable features above enuf* merated -and to provide a union suitlwhich will require no adjustment 1n sitting, stooping, or squatting, for in assuming an erectattitude from either of these positions; to pro-- vide asuit which willv not draw, roll or wrinkle in the seat Ywhilest'anding or sitting, and to provide a suit whiclrvvill not draw on the buttock or inside the leg Iand thereby avoid friction and galling, and finally, to supply a suit of the 4character aforesaid 'which will be smooth, strong and reinforced in the seat.

The invention consists of a reinforcement of peculiar construction and arrangement stitched to the seat and 'extending over the Voverlapping edge portions bordering upon the crotch or opening and which acts to prevent the edge ortions ofthe garment at the crotch es ecia ly from chafng or catching 'and bringing' out more clearly the upon4 the uttocks or inner sides ofthe legs.

The invention further `consists of lthe novel features which will be more particularly set forth, claimed and illustrated in' the accompanying drawings forming a part ofthe l the rubbing thereof against the inner sides specifications, and in which: 4.

The reinforcement or protector 1 is approximately of triangular form `with the apex i omittedand is arranged upon the inner side bordering upon i form welts or spread and catch upon'tiie buttocks,fthereby of the seat portion of the garment so as to extend over the `overlapped edge ortions `the opening in t e seat. It 'will be understood that the reinforcement 1 extending over the opening formed between the overlapped portions of the seat, r revent separation or spreading of said overapped parts and insure covering of the buttocks and preventthe formationl of the edge portions of the parts l2 into rolls or welts or the catching of same around the buttocks or of the legs.y The reinforcement 1 is preferably of the same material employed in the manufacture of the garment, being of knit fabric, hence insures a close 'lit besides preventing thediscomfort of garments of this type constructed of non-stretcliable material and requiring ample fullnessl to allow for freedomof movement of the body and limbs.

A combination under-garment comprising vest and pantsformed 1n one, and opening from the neck down the front and around the crotch and seat and having edge portions. bordering upon the seat overlapped andupwardly converged, a reinforement arranged uponthe inner side of the seat and covering the overlapped edge portions thereof, and havin v its top and bottom edges upwardly curve therewith.
