Be it known that LJonN C. This invention relates to :in improvement in pails, 4such as are cihyloyed by lnhoreis for rzx-rrying 'their dinners; and

ln carrying ont my invention, I forni the pail with double walls, und double bottoni und top, or cover, and till the space between the wnlls with zi coinliinzition ot' feltnnd paper, or with felt, and with nsuhstnnce known as paper felt, and with one or more loyers ot paper combined therewith.

A is the outer wall, which may be wade of tin or other nietl.

B represents the inner wall, which muy be composed of any suitablel material.

F represents the interior of the pnih The two outer lnyersoi' the non-conducting medium, represented by g, are compose-cl of'pnper felt, that is, paper-pulp, combined with Wool libre, the 4materia-ls being combined by felting in the ordinary inn-nner.

lz represents n thick layer of wool feit.

The next ,two layers are paper felt, the sanne :is g, and are marked i, While the inner layer, j, represented by the yellow line, is ordinary peper :L poil, thus surrounded and protected, will reta-in the lient of the contents for many hours, (eight or ten,) when the contents, :is liquids or other articles, have been raised to the boiling-point.

I do not confine myself to the particular :wrangeinent o' the loyers of the non-conducting material, no1- to the pnrticular number of each layer. The principal object I have in view is to provide a pail, for laboring nien` which will enable them to partakeof a warm dinner in the wood,- iield, or elsewhere.

Having thus described my invention,
