JASON CRANE, OF BLOOMFIELD, NEW JERSEY.
Design No. 3,491, dated May 11, 1869,
DESIGN FOR A FUR-SET BOX.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the name To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JASON CRANE, of Bloomfield, in the county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Designs for Fur-Set Boxes, and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, like letters indicating like parts wherever they occur.
To enable others skilled in the art to construct and use my invention, I will proceed to describe it.
My invention relates to paper boxes, known in the trade as fur-set boxes and consists in constructing them in a novel manner, of a new and original shape, configuration, or pattern, and with their interior arranged torconveuiently holding furs, so as to preserve their form, and protect them from injury.
In the drawings- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my box with the cover removed and the end broken away, so as to show its interior arrangement;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the cover; and
Figure 3 is a perspective view ofthe removable partition taken out.
I make my box, A, of rectangular shape, out of any kind of paper suitable for the purpose, and of any desired size, as shown in fig. 1.
Its interior I provide with a false semicircular bottom, B, arranged as shown in the same figure.
Just above the upper ends of the sides of the false bottom B, I extend around and attach to the interior of the box a ledge, O, as shown in fig. 1.
On the ledge O, I place a partition, D, so as to be removable, and being provided with a hole, E, for convenience in removing it.
The box A, I provide with the cover F.
My box, thus constructed and arranged, is of great convenience and utility, both to private individuals, and to the trade, for preserving and protecting furs.
The mufl is placed on the semicircular concave bottom B. The partition D is then placed upon the ledge O, and the collars and capes, or other articles, placed upon it. The cover F encloses the whole.
Having thus described my invention,
What I claim, is-
The design for fur-set boxes, as herein shown and described.
