To all 'whom it mtl/y conce/rn.-
Be it known that I, H. PALMEnLEE, of Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent, and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Farm- Gates; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and. exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings,'and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form apart of this specication, and in which- Figure 1 represents a perspective view, and
Figure 2, side view of my farm-gate.
Similar letters indicate like parts in both figures.
The nature of my invention consists in providing the upper end of'a gate-post with notches over which works a metal strap, for the purpose of raising and lowering the gate, in combination with other devices, the peculiarity of which will hereinafter be described.
To enable others to make and use my invention, I will now describe its construction and operation.
In the accompanying ch'awings- A. A represent two posts, secured to each end of a sill, B, or they may be secured in the ground.
