To all whom, it muy concern:
Be it known that I, HYMAN STARR, a citizen of the United States, residing' in New York, in the borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Neck and Front Pieces for Sweaters, of which the following is :i speciiication.
This invention relates to an improved separate neck and front piece for sweaters which is intended to be used in connection with sweaters having a front opening` of V shape or other suitable shape, saidneck and front piece being' separable from the sweater, so as to be used in colder weather and dispensed with in warmer weather; and for this purpose the invention consists of a front and neck piece for sweaters which comprises a tubular neck-piece and a two-pl',T front piece made integral with the neck-piece and dependingr therefrom.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front view of my improved front and neck piece for sweaters` shown in position for use. Fig. 2 is an enlarged front elevation of the saine shown as detached from the sweater. Fig. 3 is a section on line 3 3, Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a front elevation showilue;- the neck-piece folded. o'ver ,and Fig. 5 is a section on line 5 5, Fig. 4.

Referring to the drawings, a represents the tubular neck-piece oi iny improved separable neck and front piece for sweaters. The neckpiece isknit iii the usual seamless manner on the knitting-machine, the rear portion being made in the same thickness as the front portion', so and fitting of the neck-piece to the neck of thc wearer. IVhen the separable neck and liront piece readily removed and carried rol ed up in the pocket, if'not desired for use, in case of warm weather, or placed on the neck when the weather turns cold, when additional protec, tion for the neck and chest is desired.
Having thus described my invention, I 7o claim as new and desire to secure by Letters 'Patentl A reversible neck andliront piece for sweaters, consisting' of a knitted one-plT seamless tubular neck portion, and a two-p y iront or 7 5 chest portion, knitted in one piece with the neck portion and capable ot use on both sides, when the neck portion is turned inside out.
