Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 196,621, dated October 30, 1877; application filed v November 2, 1876.
To all whom itmcty concern:
Be it known thatI, AUGUST BARI'oN, of
.the city and county of San Francisco, and State of California, have invented a newand useful articleinf-the shape anddesign of a Napkin-Holder, which isfully setforth in the accompanying drawing and specification.
Figure 1 represents a longitudinal cut of the napkin-holder when closed; Fig. .2, aview of the napkin-holder when open and ready for use, and Fig. 3 a perspective view of the 1 napkin-holder as it appears in operation.
The object of my invention is to furnish a device by which to fasten napkins, aprons, towels, and other cloths to ladies, gentlemens, and childrens garments, as-desired.
In the drawings, A A are the tubes, B B are, the spirals, and. O the collar, as shown by Figs. 1 and 2; andD -D, the napkin-holder in operation, as shown by Fig. 3.
It 'will be seen from the foregoing that my invention consists in the combination of the tubes and spirals, for the object aforesaid, and also in the device for closing the napkin-holder by the same spirals and tubes, and for'holding the tubes firmly in position when closed. by
means of the collar.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, anddesire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The napkin-holder consisting of the two tubes A A, each provided with a spiral or worm fastener, B B, as shown, and. adapted to interlock for securing the tubes together when not required for use, all substantially as set forth.
