HM I

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE PANoHoT, of Hastings, in the county of Dakota, and State of Minnesota, have invented a new and improved Carriage-Step; and I do hereby declare that the following isa full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying. drawings, making a part of this specification, in which Figure l is. a perspective view, and
Figure2 is a modification of my invention.
, The object of this invention is to provide a neat, simple, and cheap attachable and removable step for wagons and other carriages. 1n the drawings, A represents the body of the carriage, and B is a small platform or step, of wood or other suitable material, attached to its lower edge by means of supporting-bars, b b, or in any other manner that may be preferred. At theinner edge of this platform are fixed eye-bolts, a a, fig. 1.
p The removable step is represented at O, and consists of a single rod, of iron or other suitable material, bent nearly or quite at right angles at c, c, and c, as shown in fig. 1, or it may be made as shown in fig. 2. In both figures the hook formed by the angle 0 is inserted into the eye-bolt.
In, order to connect the rod 0 with the eyes which hold it, the lower end of the rod must be raised a lit r 1', when the carriage is very high from the ground.
A step thus constructed can be attached or removed in a moment. It is simple, light, inexpensive, neat in appearance, and not liable to get out of order.
