IMPROVEMENT IN HAY-RACKS FOR WAGONS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, STEPHEN J. SMITH, of Farmington, in the county of Ontario, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in the Formation of a fiaydt'ack; and 'I do hereby declare that the following is a ful1,-clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is an end view, and
Figure 2, a sideelevation.
The nature of my invention consists in combining, with a wagon-body, an adjustable attachment for hauling hay, 850., when said attachment is constructed and arranged to operate in the manner hereinafter set forth. v
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now describe its construction and operation.
A represents a common wagon-body.

It will also be observed that these cross-pieces are provided with slots, in which are pivoted the bars 11 b b. The ends of said slots are made oblique, so that the bars I) b may rest and be supported in an oblique position, as fully seen in fig. 1.
