Letters Patent No. 104,081, dated Imre 7, 1870.
IMPROVEMENT IN SCAFFOLD-BRACKET.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH M. TAYLOR, of Dublin, in the county of Wayne and in the State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Scaold-Brackets; and do hereby declare that the following isa full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had 4to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of' this specification.
The nature ot' my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a scaii'old-bracket to he used on an inclined plane, such as roofing, Sto.
In order-,to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and `use the. same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, .referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my bracket when used-for shingling, or any other like purpose, `and Figure 2 is a side view, showing its position when used for the purpose of holding shingles or any other bodies used in the construction of rooting, or such like purposes.
A represents an iron bracket of three legs, toothed at their ends, as shown in fig. 1.
Near the joint of the three legs is pivoted aforkcd l adjustable bar, B, with clutches C Ci'or the purpose of holdinr a 'scaifold-hoard.v
At the outer end of the barB is also a tooth to fasten on the roof', and said bar may be adjusted to any pitch of roof by changing the pivot.
Having thusfully described my invention,
What l claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isf- The three-legged bracket A, in combination with the adjustable bar B, provided with clutches C C, and their ends toothed, all substantially'as and for the purposes hereiuset forth.
