BOTTLE -HGLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Petented June 12, 1906.
Application filed Koveinber 6, 1905. Serial No. 286,150.
To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, CARL Rroirrns, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Holders, of which the following is e. specification.
This invention is a bottle rack or holder designed to support a plurality of vials or hottles safely and in a. small space and cornprises, essentially, a. backing to which a.
metal stri is applied, the strip being bent or folded to orm spring-clips in which the bottles are held.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation of the holder. Fig. 2 is a. top view of the metal strip. Fig. 3 1s a sec tion on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1.
Referring specifically to the drawings, 6 indicates a. backing piece or board from which project upper and lower shelves 7 and 8, which serve the purpose of confining the bottles and preventing them from slipping either up or down. Secured to the backing between the strips is 9. metal strip 9, which is provided with bends or folds, as indicated at 10, having enlarged heads or portions 11 at the front between which the bottles 12 are sl 'xrung and held hen the device is in use. he strip is secured at suitable intervals to the backing by means of rivets 13 and between the rivets b straps or clips is, each of which consists e, double-pointed tack or piece ofmetal which extends es a strap over the metal strip with its ointed ends inserted throughthe backing. I he strap 14 is loose, so that the strip 9 has a. limited amount of play thereunder, which gives an increased spring or elastic action, since the folds are not in contact, and each fold can give a. little when a bottle is inserted or removed. The metal may be folded square, as shown at one end in Fi 2, or round, as shown at the other.
What by Letters Patent, is
A bottle-holder comprising a backing and a folded spring-metal strip secured thereto, the folds being spaced to receive bottles therehetween end the branches of each fold being spaced from each other, and a fastening-strep extending over the strip between the folds end secured at its ends to the backing'end ermitting slight lengthwise shift or slide of thestrip.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
