Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 14, 1905.
Application md February s, 1904. senti No. 191,829.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, HEINRICH FRnIsE, a subject of the German Emperor, and a resident of Hamme, Germany, have invented certain newand useful Improvements in or Relating to Buckets, of which the following isaspecification.
The present invention relates to improvements in buckets; and its object is to insure the temporary closing of the bucket-cover. These improvements are shown in the anneXed drawings, in which* Figurel is aside elevation of abucket tted with my improvements. Fig. 2 is a top plan View of same.
Referring to the drawings in detail, a represents an ordinary sheet-metal bucket rectangular in cross-section, which is provided with a cover b, having the hinge d. Secured to the upper face of the cover and at its opposite side edges are metal straps, the free ends c of which project beyond the front of the bucket and form hooks, as shown. The
bail f for carrying the bucket is pivotally secured in suitable ears on the sides of the bucket and is bent so as to rest in the aforesaid hooks after the cover is closed. The weight of the bail thus falls upon the cover and assures a close connection .between the latter and the bucket.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A bucket having a cover hinged thereon, hooks secured to the upper side of the cover near each side edge thereof and projecting beyond the front of the bucket, and a pivoted wire bail bent inwardly near its pivotal points to provide portions engaging said hooks.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
HEINRICH FREISE.
