To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, WILLARD J ouns, a citizen of the United States, residing at Auburn, in the county of Androscoggin and State of Maine, have invented a new and useful Combined Window Shade Roller and Drapery- Pole Hanger, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to combined windowshade-roller and drapery-pole hangers, and has for its object to simplify and improve the construction and increase the efficiency of devices of this character.

With these and other objects in view, which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in certain novel features of construction, as hereinafter fully described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in which corresponding parts are denoted by like designating characters, is illustrated the preferred form of embodiment of the invention capable of carrying the same into practical operation, it being understood that the invention is not necessarily limited thereto, as various changes in the shape, proportions, and general assemblage of the parts may be resorted to without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing-any of its advantages.

In the drawings thus employed, Figure 1 is a side elevation of the improved hanger applied. Fig. 2 is a perspective view, enlarged, of the improved hanger detached. Fig. 3 is a view of the blank from which the hanger is formed.

-The improved hangers are used in pairs, one at each side of the window; but as both are alike one only is shown.

The improved device comprises a plate 10 of sheet metal of any suitable kind, either brass highly polished or lacquered, plated, or otherwise ornamented and provided at one end with spaced longitudinal slits or clefts 11 12 and at an intermediate point with a substantiallyinverted-U-shaped slit or cleft 13, whereby tongues 14:, 15, 16, and 17 are formed, as indicated in Fig. 3.

The outer tongues 15 16 terminate in spurs 18 19 and are distended or spread laterally at their extremities, as in Fig. 2, and bent into member of the window-casing, (represented at 22,) the spreading of the tongues 15 16 serving to extend the supporting-basebf the hanger and materially increase its stability.

The intermediate tongue 14 is bent forwardly into a hook for supporting the drapery-pole, (indicated by dotted lines at 23,) while the tongue 17 is bent forwardly and twisted one-fourth around and provided with the socket 24 for supporting the journal of a shade-roller.

The plate may be formed with any ornamental or fanciful outline and of any suitable material and size.

The hanger is attached securely to the casing without the use of screws, nails, or other fastening means other than the spurs 18 19, and the latter, being spaced a comparatively wide distance apart, support the hanger with the necessary stability, as will be obvious, and without increasing the weight or cost of manufacture.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is 1. As a new article of manufacture, acombined shade-roller and drapery-pole hanger struck from a single blank and having a plurality of terminal tongues the outer of which are spread laterally and terminate in rearwardly-bent hooks for engaging the windowcasing, and the intermediate of which is bent forward to form a drapery-pole-supporting hook, and a second intermediate tongue extended forward and provided with a shaderoller socket.

2. As a new article of manufacture, acombined shade-roller and drapery-pole hanger struck from a single blank and having side and intermediate tongues, the intermediate tongues extending forwardly from the plane of the blank to respectively form draperypole and shade-roller brackets, and the side tongues being extended rearwardly to form window-frame-engaging hooks.
