Description
@einen taten stmt @Hire Leim Patent No. 79,383, dated vJem; 30,1868.
IMBROVEMBNT In SHEEP-TABLE; et..
Q'blge'rlgzhnle refont tu imA tigen teitsrs fatsut mit making putt nf tige' mime4 TO ALL WHOM IT-KMAYCONCERN:
A Be it known that I, ENOS PAGE, of Streetsboro, in thecounty of Portage, and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Iuiprovements in Sheep-Tables, 3io.; andIdo hereby declare that the following-is a. full end complete description of-the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a. part of this specicatiom'in which'- Figure 1 is s. side view of the table.
Figure 2, a. view ofthe under side.
Figure 3, a view of the top.
Like letters of reference refer to like parts in the several v iews.
In iig. 3,-A representsV thetop of the table, to the under side of whichare hinged the legs B, fig. 2, by
means of the hinges or butts C, one wing of which is secured to the table-top, and the other to the cross-piece D,inwhich the legs are/inserted, so thatv the two legs can be folded or turned up at once, close to the under side of the top, as -are the legs E, which,as will be observed, are not connected' to each other and to the top by a cross-piece, but are directly hinged to the table by the butts, indicated by the dottedl lines a.
The legs B on `being turned down, as represented in iig. 1, are thus seenred by the button F, thei'eb'y dispiensingiwith thense of, brnces for sustaining the legs in position; a'. transverse broe, G,'o`nly being required.
The 'legs E referred to, when turned down, as are the legs B, are secured from rocking by their upper end being embraeed in the r'ecesses'H cut in the cross-piece I, and which is .therein stayed by the buttons Il, said buttons being turned down over the legs, es shown in iig. 1. l
J ie apillow, x'ed to the top of the table, in which is a deep rounded notch for the admission of'the neck i of the sheep on being laid upon the table for shearing, and -to which it is secured by a. strep passe'd'overits neck or body, as may be most convenient.
The special udvntegeof a. tn blothus constructed, viz, with the legs so attached 'that they can be foldedv up, is the great convenience of transportation and storage. The ordinary shearing-table withits rigid legs is cumbersome for moving, and occupies much room when placed away for safe keeping; whereas, the table 'bove described, by having its legs folded np, can be easily moved about, or set up close against the wall ont of the way.
What I' claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
Hinging the legs B and E to the table or top A, in the manneras and'for the purpose set forth.
i ENOS PAGE.
