IMPROVEMENT IN -IItINTING-PESS FRISKETS.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERNE VBe it known that we, T. W. CASTLE and B.CONNER, of Adriance, inthe county of Newton, and State of Indiana, have invented a new and improved Frisket; and'we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, refer-` ence being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of. this specification.

This invention relates to a new and improved frisket forprinting-presses; and it consists in a novel construction andapplication ofv the former to thev tympan of a press, as hereinafter fully shown and described, whereby the frisket is operated, opened,'and closed automatically, by the raising and lowering of'tlie tympan.

A represents a tympan of a printing-press, which is connectedatone end,4as usual, to the bed B by hinges, a a. To the rear end of the-bed B there areattached' twoupright curved prongs, e c, which are located at such -poiuts that when the tympan A is raised andthrown atriieI back of a vertical position, the levers G G will Vcome in contact. with s aid prongs, and bejactn'ateld so vas to throw outward'fthe two parts D'D, comprising the frisket, so that a printed vsheet may be-taken therefrom `and a blank sheet inserted .in its place, the blank 4sheet being grasped and held thetwo parts DD of the frisket as soon as the tympan is turned upto a vertical position, whichl relievesthelevers G-Gffrm-the prongs e e, and admits of the springs E E throwing the twoparts D D of the frisket inward, soins' to 'grasp the blank sheet'.

By this very s implevarrang'ement the :f risket is operated' automatically by the raisingland lowering ofthe tympan, and a printing-press, therefore, may be manipulated with much. greater facility and expedition thanA hitherto.
