SUPPORTER FOR DRAWERS- SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 777,879, dated December 20, 1904. Application filed September 10, 1904. Serial No. 224,081.

To a w/eom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, IsAAo BLUM, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of the city of Baltimore and State of Maryland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Supporters for Drawers, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a device for supporting drawers worn by men on the interior of their trousers, and has for its object to provide a device which can be easily and permanently secured to the interior of the waistbandof trousers, which will be compact and not hurt the wearer, and which may be easily locked or unlocked to secure or release a tape or other similar device attached to the waistband of the drawers.

Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my device open and unattached to the garment. Fig. 2 represents a side view of the device looped and unattached to the garment. Fig. 3 is a rear view showing means for fastening the device to the waistband of the trousers. perspective view showing the device secured to the interior of the waistband of the trousers and having a loop or tape of the waistband of the drawers looped within the supporter.

In the drawings the same numerals represent the same parts in all figures.

1 is a body portion which forms a shank of a hook, and at one end the body portion is bent up to form a bill 2. The shank or body portion is provided with perforations 3 on the sides and prongs 4 4 upon its upper end and back.

5 is one member of a post-and-socket fastener clenched into the shank and supported thereby.

6 is a tongue hinged to the end of the bill of the hook and having the other member, 7 of the post-and-socket fastener clenched into it in position to engage with the portion of the post-and-socket fastener upon the shank.

Referring to Fig. 4, 8 is the waistband of a pair of trousers to which the body portion of the drawers-supporter is secured by means of the prongs 4 4 and by means of threads Fig. 4 isa' passed through the holes 3 3. 9 is the waistband of a pair of drawers; 10, a loop of tape secured thereto which is adapted to engage the hook of the drawers-supporter and be held firmly in place by the locking-tongue 6 when the two members of the post-and-socket fas- 5 tener are engaged. Preferably, and as shown, the hook portion 2 is curved, as is best shown in Fig. 3, in order that its inner surface may conform to the curve of the loop 10, and thus prevent the edges of the hook from abrading the loop.

The device is simple, easily constructed, easily attached to any garment, and when in use the drawers may be quickly engaged or released.

WVhile I have shown what I believe to be the preferred form of my invention, I desire to have it understood that many changes may be made in the form, construction, and arrangement of the parts, and my invention contemplates and embraces all such changes.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a drawers-supporter, the combination of a hook provided with means for attachment to the waistband of trousers, the shank of the hook being provided with one member of a post-and-socket fastener, and a tongue hinged to the end of the bill of the hook and carrying the other member of the post-and-socket fastener in position to engage the member of the shank.

2. In a drawers-supporter the combination of a hook provided with prongs for attachment to the waistband of trousers, the shank of the hook being provided with one member of a post-and-socket fastener, and a tongue hinged to the end of the bill of the hook and carrying the other member of the post-and-socket fastener in position to engage the member on the hook, substantially as described.
