TO ALL'WHOM IT MAY-CONC'ERN: l
Be it known .that .I, A. G. STEVENS, of Manchester, in the county of Hillsboro, and State olNew Hampshire, have invented a new and improved Boor-Stop; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will 'enable others skilled in the art to make and use the saine, reference being` had to=the accompanying,` drawings, forrriingu part of' this specification. I
The object oi' the door-stop embraced in the present invention is to obviate any injuryv to the sides of rooms by the striking of the door against the same when opened wide, and' for this purpose this invention consists in a novel-constructed and arranged stop, applied to thedoor, which, bytheopeningoithe door, will be thrown into position to prevent its striking against the sideof the room, and thus .obviate any injury thereto.
In the accompanying plate of drawings my improved door-stop is illustratedi AFigure 1 being a vertical section through a door and its frame, with my improved stop applied thereto, and i Figure 2 anoutside front`view of the ease in which my door-stop is arranged."
Similar letters of reference indicate like parts. y v l A in the drawings, represents a door, and B the frame, in which the door is hung by hinges iu the ordinary manner; C, the-side wall to a room. A I

The upperend, I, ofthe lever G, sets under the top-piece J, to the case or bei; E, and iu such upper end is secured a rubber cushion or pad, K, :1s-shown in red in the drawings, iig. 1 more particularly.
L, a bent spring, passing around centre r fulcrum-pin M to the lever G. This spring, at one end, is eonfined vby the caso E, and at the other in the lever G, so that it will act, when the endto the lever having the rubber pad is thrown out from under the top-piece to the case E, to draw it hack underthe same.
N, a trip-pin, to be fastened in door of room, at or near the side or mop-board of the same, and in such a position that, when the door isv swungropen, the toefend to the lever hung therein will strike against the same, and thus the bumper or rubber-pad end to the lever thrown out into position to strike the side of the room, preventing the door from striking the' same, which would cause injury to or the defacement of the same.
I'elaimsas new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A door-stop, constructed vas described, ,consisting of the pivoted lever G, formed at the lower endinto l atoe, F, spring L, cushion K, and. case EJ.l
