Description
PATENTED JAN. 12, 1904.
Y o. HARRIS. WINDOW BLIND FITTING.
APPLICATION FILED 116.24, 190s.
N0 MODEL.
Patented January 12, 1904.
PATENT OFFICE.
ERNEST CHAS. HARRIS, OF BECKENHAM, ENGLAND.
WINDOW-BLIND FITTING.
Sit-ECIFICATION forming part of LettersPatent No. 749,289, dated January 12, 1904.
Application filed August 24, 1903- To all w/zom it may concern.-
i v Be it known that I, ERNEST CHARLES HAR- ms, a subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at 43 Beckenham road, Beckenham, county of Kent, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements Relating to Window-Blind Fittings, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in window-blind fittings, and is best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings,
. in which Figure 1 is an end sectional elevation; Fig. 2, a section on the line m 00, Fig. l; and Fig. 3, a front elevation.
Like letters of reference denote similar or corresponding parts in the several views.
The object of my invention primarily is to prevent the blind-cord b from leaving its roller a and to produce a fitting which While being simple in construction is efficient in action and unlikely to get out of order in use.
With this object in view I construct an inclosing casing preferably in two halves BB,
hinged together at (Z, the outer hinged portion B, as shown in dotted lines, Fig. 1, be-
3 ing free to open to permit of the roller and pulley being placed in position or removed.
its pin a.
. Within this casing when the roller is in position the grooved or flanged pulley A of the The grooved cord-pulley A fits .snugly within the casing B B, so that all tendency of the cord 6 to override the flange 35 c ofthe pulley A is entirely prevented. The
hinged half B of the casing is easily opened Serial No. 170,610. (No model.)
from the back lug f of the fixed casing B, I
which pin when the slotted lug f of the front hinged casing is pressed against the corresponding lug f is given a half-turn and by a square headc or otherwise locks the hinged portion of the casing B, so as to hold the roller a, with its pulley A and the cord 6, in the required position. The fixed casing B is secured to the bracket g or equivalent, by means of which it is screwed, as shown, or otherwise fastened to the window-frame, a hole in the casing B being left through which the blind-cord 6 passes.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a roller-fitting, a combination with a grooved pulley, of a casing comprising two sections having their outer edges hinged together, the meeting edges of the sections having coinciding recesses forming a journalbearing, the lower section having apertures through which the cord passes and means for securing the two sections together.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ERNEST CHAS. HARRIS.
