IMPROVED DISH-WASHER.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that we, E. NORTON and J. S. B. NORTON, both of Boston, in the county of Suffolk, and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful improvements in .Dish-Washing Machines; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being hadtothe accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

The nature of our invention consists in so constructing a dish-washing machine that a number of dishes may be placed ina crib, suspended in Water, and there subjected to the action of the water, which is agitated by u revolving frame.

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use ourinvention, we will proceed to describe its construction and use. Iii the drawingsl Figure 1 is a perspective Aview of our improved Washing-machine.

The outside case or tank A B may be constructed of wood or metal, and in the general form represented in tig. 1. The crib K K, figs. 1 and 4, is formed of sheet metal and wires, the sheet metal forming the ends K K, the bars M M M and N N', figs. 1 and 4, while the wires form the ribs L L L, itc This crib is suspended by the pivots O and C. The revolving frame E E H, figs. 1, 2, and 3, is also suspended upon the pivots C and C', and is revolved around the crib by means of the crank D, gs. l and 2. I v

To use our machine we proceed as follows: The tank is filled with hot Water; the dishes are placed in the crib K K, and are held-by the ribs L L L, 82e. Now, by taking hold of the crank D and rapidly revolving or oscillating the frame E E', the water is made to iiow rapidly in among the dishes, and thus to wash them.

Having thus described our invention, we will proceed to set forth our claim.

What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The combination as well as the arrangement of the revolving frame E E', with the crib K, made substantially as described and for the purpose set forth.
