Be it known that I,. ISAAC DAN, of Sanford, in the county of Broome, and in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sleigh-Knee; and I do; hereby declare that the following is efull, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the-'irccompahying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
In the annexed drawings, making part of this specification, A represents the sleigh-knee, which is provided at each endwith a metallic block. These blocks B and C are T-shaped', and both provided with dove-tailed mortises for receiving the ends of the knee A. The block B, on the upper end of, the knee, has a dovetailed slot made horizontally in it to receive the end of the sleigh-bearer D. E represents a bar of metal, which is riveted to the knee A, and also to the two blocks B and Q. The lower end of this bar extends below the block C, so that it can be-riveted to the side of the runner. The block 0 restsupon and is secured to the runner by screws or bolts. The hearers D be riveted into the blocks B. By this arrangement and construction of parts the knees may be quickly andse'eurely attached to the runners and bearers of the sl'e'gh.
I What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- I The blocks B and C,'as constructed and used, in combination with the knee and the bar E, as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 29th daj of August, 1867.
