Be it knoivnithot I, FRANKLIN D. FORD, of New Bedford, inthe county of. Bristol, in `the State of Mossa,- chusctts, hzive'invented a. new and improved Device for Seourinfor Neck-Ties, Carriage-Curtains, or any article to which it may be epplicable; and I doihereby declerethatthe following is a. full :ind exact description thereof, reference being ,had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention consists in a metallic spring, constructed and operntingas herein shown.

i l .i Operation and Novelty. y
The Withindevice for securing neck-ties, ete., being constructed of wire, as herein shown, and attached to neck-ties, as represented in iig. l, its operation and novelty may be noted. By pressing together the ends a2 il the ports at b2 are sufficiently separated to allow `the spring to slip ou to the nec-ikl of the button. The pressure being then removed, the parts at b2 spring together :1nd the button is securely clasped in the oye c2.
In this invention I do not confine myself to the form of spring set forth. It muy be mode in any practical form.
