Be it known that I, WILLIAM J. HOWARD, of Petersburg, in the county of Boone, and State of Kentucky, havc invented a. new Design for a. Caster-0overing, of which the following is a. full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this speciicvtion, in which the figure is a. side vicw of the caster, showing my improved covering. ,A

A is thc shank or pivot, and B is the roller of an ordinary caster.` C is the covering, which muy be formed upon or attached to the caster, or which may'be permanently attached to thc article of furniture.' The covering C may be cast, or struck up out of the sheet' metal, or carved. cl is acircular horizontal pla-te or shoulder, from the under side ofthe outer edge of which descends a series of lobes or elongated projections c, from the lowe'r edge of the lower ends of which descends another series of lobes or elongated projections similar to the series c1, but larger, thus forming a groove or shoulder around the covering B, as shown in the drawing.
