IMPROVEMENT IN SHEEP-TABLE.
dug: rlgsbulc reform in in time itettsrs new! taut mating part at its smite.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Be it known that I, GREEN FENTON, of Streetsboro, in the county of Portage, and State of Ohio, have invented certain newand useful improvements in Sheep-Tables; and I do hereby declare that the following is 'a full and complete description of the same, reference being had to'the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a side view of the table.
Figure 2 is a View of the top with sides.
Figure 3 is an end view.
Figure 4 is a view of the top without the sides.
Like letters of reference refer to like parts in the views. 7 I
A, fig. 2, is the top of the table, and which may be constructed of any desirable size, and of the shape shown in the drawing. At the head of the'table is placed a pillow, B, and at the foot a block, 0, fig. 3. D D are side boards or leaves secured to the table by dowel-pins E projected through the table, as shown in fig. 1, the whole of which is supported by the legs F, and which may be of any convenient height.
The purpose of this table is for holding the sheep while being shorn, tagged, or otherwise treated, and is used as follows: The animal is laid upon the table between the sides D, with its neck resting upon the pillow B, and around which is buckled the strap F, while the rear. of the sheep rests against the foot-block C. Should the animal he restive the straps G are buckled around its body, which prevent it from rising upward, while the side boards restrain it from moving sidewise,'and thus the sheep is securely held while being shorn, or otherwise treated. Should the table be used without the Sideboards the foot-straps H, fig. 4, are then buckled around the feet of the animal, and by this means it is held equallysecure and convenient of approach for the operator. If the sheep be a small or short one the pillow B can bemoved back or inward by shifting the pins I, fig, 1, to the holes J, and thus adapt the pillow to the neck of the animal.
What I claim as my improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The herein-described sheep-table provided with adjustable sides D, foot-block O, and pillow B, when construeted and arranged in the manner and for the purpose substantially as set forth.
GREEN FENTON.
