SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 600,608, dated March 15, 1898.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JAMES H. BOSTON, of Washington, county of Washington, and State of Kansas, have invented a new and useful Veterinary Obstetrical Support; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the figures marked on the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification.
My invention relates to veterinary obstet rical supports.
The invention is particularly for use upon sows with young, and it is placed thereon during delivery to support the abdomen and adjacent parts, so that birth is facilitated and rendered more easily than where, such support is not used.
The drawing represents a perspective View of my invention. 1 represents horizontal side straps of considerable supporting width.
2 are a series of transverse straps, which are pivoted at 3 at each end to the side straps 1.
4 are a series of supporting-straps, also pivotally connected at 5 with the side straps.
6 are buckles for adjusting the support to the sow.
The supporting-straps 1 and 2 lie under the abdomen of the animal and are held tightly thereon by the straps 4.
The straps firmly support the abdomen, and at the same time the support accommodates itself, by reason of the pivoted or swiveling movement of all the straps, to the varied strains of the sow in labor, whereby the birth of young is greatly facilitated.
-What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A veterinary obstetrical support, comprisin g the side straps, the lower transverse straps pivoted thereto, and the upper adj ustingstraps also pivoted to the side straps, substan-. tially as set forth.
