Description

' @einen .rms istituti @mm WILL-IAM BLIESNER, 0F STVLOIS, MISSOURI um Patent No. 67,254, dated July so, 1867.
@Ille rlgebulefnfem tn in vlgese rttrrsatent zmh making part :1Min sans.
'lO ALL WHOM IT MAY` CONCERN: i i I Be it` known that I, WILLIAM BLIESNER, of St. Louis, inthe county of St. Louis, nnd State of Missouri,
have invented a new and useful improvement on a Meat-Cutting and Feeding Machine; and I do hereby declare that the following 1s a clear, full, and exact description ofthe construction and operation ofthe same, reference being had to the annexed drawings; `making a. partof this speciiieation, in which- Figure I isa front elevation of the feeding apparatus with the cutting machine attached,
Figure II, a top view of the feeding apparatus, and
Figure III a side view of the c'utting machine. j
The invention consists oi' two principal parts: first, the feeding apparatus A; second, the meat-cutting apparatus B.
The feeding apparatus A consists of a frame, one-half of which is occupied by a meat-box, al, of any suit- I able shape, open at two opposite ends, and closed at the'top by a. lid. The open ends of the box a permit the l passage o f a piston, a2, shned in conformity with said bex. By means of cog-wheels and a rack, the piston Aof the piston without affecting the rc'mninder of the machinery.
receives a backwardand fo. .vard motion in the box a, atene end of which are attached the straight knives bij b. The meat-cutting apparatus B consists of the straight knives b2 b, fixed in two separate frames, b1, movingi by means of an eccentric, cl, at right angles to each other, but still parallel to the opening of the meat-box a.
At the same end of the box to which the straight knives are attached there'is a sword-shaped knife, b5, having j a rotary motion, parallel to the opening of the meat-box al. To the shaft c' is fixed the cog-wheel c3, which `transmits its motion to the cog-wheel c4 and the eccentric c1. The shaft c2 is putin motion by the combinationv'of lthe cog-wheels c5 c5 and the driving-shaft, its pinion c7 and ily-wheel c6. The-combination of the cog-wheelsc cx c cw clx and the rack clz produces the .backward and forward motion of the piston. The shaftv cla ofthe coge, wheels cw c is capable of being moved laterally, by means of which the piston can easily be drawn back without cal\sing the working of any of the other parts of the machinery. The machinemay be made offwood and iron or`an other suitable materials.
1. I claim the combination of the feeding-apparatus A with the meatlcu-tting machine, all arranged xgspeciiedl` 2. The continual motion of the knives in three different directions, as and for the purpose described.
3. :The simultaneous inotion of the knives b2 b3 by means o'f the lever b, and the eccentric wheel c, as
and-for tho ptirpose specified;`
4. T he arrangement of the shaft c with the cog-wheel ci and the rack a, which permits the drawing baal i v WILLIAM nLIEsNEitL Witnesses: y
