TAG CLASP. (Application filed Apr. 13, 1598.)

SIMON DANOYGER, OF DAYTON, OHIO.
TAG -C LAS P.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 665,313, dated January 1, 1901.
Application filed April 13 1898. Serial No. 677,456. (No model.)
To a. whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, SIMON DANOYGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Tag-Clasps; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the numerals of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in tag-clasps; and it consists of an oblong open ring or link with overlapping parallel and pointed ends, one of which is shouldered.
The object of my invention is the construction of a cheap and effective clasp adapted to fasten tags to textile merchandise.
The construction is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a front view of the device. 2 is a side view of the same.
Like numerals designate like parts in the two views.
The clasp comprises the part 6, the semicir- Fig.
cular bends '7 and 8, and the overlapping ends 9 and 10, the latter having a reverse curve, so that it lies beneath and parallel to the former, all the parts being in the same plane.
In use the paper tag A is attached and the point is made to enter the fabric, and thus it serves to unite the two parts, the shoulder rendering the detachment somewhat difficult.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
As an improved article of manufacture, the clasp or link formed of a single piece of wire oblong in form with semicircular bends, one of the free ends of said wire being parallel with the opposite side, the other free end having a reverse curve which forms an obstructing-shoulder and carries said end beneath and parallel with the former, all parts being in the same plane, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I mix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SIMON DANOYGER.
